EU: EU@60 Exhibition launched
The Ambassador of the European Union to China Hans Dietmar Schweisgut opened the EU@60 Exhibition at the prestigious Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province on September 14. The event is one of the several activities that will mark the 60th anniversary of the March 25, 1957, signing of the Treaties of Rome, which laid the foundation for the European Union (EU) today. The exhibition, which is titled Ever Closer Union uses text, pictures, videos and interactive content to introduce the EU, its history and evolution as well as information on EUChina relations to a Chinese audience, especially university students and other young people. The Sun Yat-sen University showcase also has a special section from the Italian Embassy, which is dedicated to the People’s Republic of China. Initially displayed at Shanghai’s Fudan University for two weeks in May, the traveling exhibition will be displayed at Sun Yat-sen University for two weeks starting on September 14.
