EU: EU@60 Ex­hi­bi­tion launched

The Am­bas­sador of the Euro­pean Union to China Hans Di­et­mar Sch­weisgut opened the EU@60 Ex­hi­bi­tion at the pres­ti­gious Sun Yat-sen Univer­sity in Guangzhou, Guang­dong Prov­ince on Septem­ber 14. The event is one of the sev­eral ac­tiv­i­ties that will mark the 60th an­niver­sary of the March 25, 1957, sign­ing of the Treaties of Rome, which laid the foun­da­tion for the Euro­pean Union (EU) to­day. The ex­hi­bi­tion, which is ti­tled Ever Closer Union uses text, pic­tures, videos and in­ter­ac­tive con­tent to in­tro­duce the EU, its his­tory and evo­lu­tion as well as in­for­ma­tion on EUChina re­la­tions to a Chi­nese au­di­ence, es­pe­cially univer­sity stu­dents and other young peo­ple. The Sun Yat-sen Univer­sity show­case also has a special sec­tion from the Ital­ian Em­bassy, which is ded­i­cated to the Peo­ple’s Repub­lic of China. Ini­tially dis­played at Shang­hai’s Fu­dan Univer­sity for two weeks in May, the trav­el­ing ex­hi­bi­tion will be dis­played at Sun Yat-sen Univer­sity for two weeks start­ing on Septem­ber 14.
