“Several people standing on an iron shelf is too dangerous.”

Global Times – Metro Beijing - - TWO CENTS -

So said a man surnamed Jia, who lives in the Dongzhimen area, in commenting on a group of adventure seekers who recently climbed two unfinished high-rise buildings in Dongzhimen to take daring photos for their microblog. Jia said that the building’s construction started in 2000, but it is still unfinished, and some areas have sustained damage due to the elements. The structures have become a popular spot for adventure seekers. Although people guard the gate, many Net users have entered and snapped images and videos, which they then share on the Internet. According to media reports, many empty high-rise buildings have been broken into for this purpose. The authorities have launched an investigation. (Source: Beijing Youth Daily)
