Israeli Ambassador to China Zvi Heifetz met with the mayor of Guangzhou Wen Guohui in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province and exchanged thoughts on the current and potential collaboration in scientific technology during his visit on January 22.

During the meeting, Wen said that Guangzhou’s innovation-driven development strategy matched well with Israel in several sectors including scientific innovation, bio-industry and environmental protection. “Guangzhou wishes to further deepen interactive cooperation with Israel in promoting the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative,” Wen said.

Heifetz acknowledged the city’s achievements in economic and social perspectives and hoped that both sides can exploit systematic and in-depth cooperation in airport, harbor and AI innovation to complement each other’s advantages and achieve mutual benefits.
