Thai­land: Em­bassy wel­comes Chi­nese res­cue team home

Min­is­ter Coun­selor Ban­poth Ujjin rep­re­sented the Thai Em­bassy in Bei­jing in wel­com­ing the Chi­nese res­cue team’s re­turn to China with Thai Air­ways’ man­ager Anan Bud­kaew at the Bei­jing Cap­i­tal In­ter­na­tional Air­port on July 15.

The team of six ac­tively par­tic­i­pated in res­cu­ing a ju­nior soc­cer team that was trapped in Thai­land’s Tham Luang Nang Non cave in Chi­ang Rai Prov­ince re­cently.

The fam­ily and friends of the res­cuers were also wait­ing for them at the air­port. The min­is­ter coun­selor pre­sented flow­ers to the team and thanked them for their as­sis­tance.

“The Thai em­bassy in China and all the Thai peo­ple were very moved by the kind­ness of the res­cue team,” Ujjin said. “In ad­di­tion, the Chi­nese have been pay­ing close at­ten­tion to the news and giv­ing en­cour­age­ment, which also tes­ti­fies to the close friend­ship and good wishes of the two peo­ples.”
