Thailand: Embassy welcomes Chinese rescue team home
Minister Counselor Banpoth Ujjin represented the Thai Embassy in Beijing in welcoming the Chinese rescue team’s return to China with Thai Airways’ manager Anan Budkaew at the Beijing Capital International Airport on July 15.
The team of six actively participated in rescuing a junior soccer team that was trapped in Thailand’s Tham Luang Nang Non cave in Chiang Rai Province recently.
The family and friends of the rescuers were also waiting for them at the airport. The minister counselor presented flowers to the team and thanked them for their assistance.
“The Thai embassy in China and all the Thai people were very moved by the kindness of the rescue team,” Ujjin said. “In addition, the Chinese have been paying close attention to the news and giving encouragement, which also testifies to the close friendship and good wishes of the two peoples.”
