“We are both over 60 years old. How can we catch a 20-something thief?”
So said a senior Beijing resident surnamed Tian who is a photography enthusiast and often takes photos in parks. On July 22, he was taking photos with his wife in the Olympic Forest Park when an argument attracted his attention. While he was trying to figure out what was going on, a man suddenly grabbed his bag of photography equipment and ran away. Tian shouted at the man and ran after him with his wife. A “kind-hearted” bystander pointed them in the direction of the theif. Unfortunately, Tian lost him and then called the police. Tian believes that these people work together to steal from people. The police said that it was not the first time photography equipment had been stolen from visitors in the park, and they reminded visitors to be careful when taking photos in public.
