WORDMATTERS

Global Times – Metro Beijing - - TWO CENTS -

“My daughter cares very much about this homework. Every time she goes outside, she looks for the national flag.”

So said a Beijing resident surnamed Wu. During China’s National Day holiday last week, Wu’s daughter, a seven-year old pupil at Shijingshan Pingguoyuan Second Primary School, had a special homework: take photos with the national flag and share the pics with classmates in a WeChat group. According to Wu, every time they went out and saw a national flag, her daughter felt very happy and asked her to take a photo. Wu said it is a good idea to cultivate Chinese children’s feelings of patriotism. (Source: Beijing Morning Post)
