Man arrested for stealing women’s clothes
Songjiang District People’s Procuratorate issued a warrant to arrest a man for stealing more than 240 articles of women’s clothing, reported the Xinmin Evening News.
Female residents in Xinqiao town found that their clothes were disappearing from outside clothes lines.
In December a woman witnessed a man stealing her clothes before driving off on a scooter. The woman and her roommates prevented the man from escaping and called the police.
The police officers found more than 240 articles at his residence, including jackets, trousers, dresses, underwear and socks.
After being caught, the thief confessed to the Songjiang police officers that he stole women’s clothes because he wanted to “frighten them,” a misplaced revenge that authorities attribute to the man’s recent divorce.
