Man ar­rested for steal­ing women’s clothes

Songjiang District Peo­ple’s Procu­ra­torate is­sued a war­rant to ar­rest a man for steal­ing more than 240 ar­ti­cles of women’s cloth­ing, re­ported the Xin­min Evening News.

Fe­male res­i­dents in Xin­qiao town found that their clothes were dis­ap­pear­ing from out­side clothes lines.

In De­cem­ber a wo­man wit­nessed a man steal­ing her clothes be­fore driv­ing off on a scooter. The wo­man and her room­mates pre­vented the man from es­cap­ing and called the po­lice.

The po­lice of­fi­cers found more than 240 ar­ti­cles at his res­i­dence, in­clud­ing jack­ets, trousers, dresses, un­der­wear and socks.

Af­ter be­ing caught, the thief con­fessed to the Songjiang po­lice of­fi­cers that he stole women’s clothes be­cause he wanted to “frighten them,” a mis­placed re­venge that au­thor­i­ties at­tribute to the man’s re­cent di­vorce.
