Man de­tained for steal­ing money from his girl­friend

A man was re­cently placed in crim­i­nal de­ten­tion for steal­ing some 4,000 yuan ($578.30) from his girl­friend’s on­line pay ac­count, ac­cord­ing to thep­a­per. cn.The man, sur­named Chen, ac­com­pa­nied his girl­friend, sur­named Guo, to re­port a theft at Changqiao po­lice sta­tion in Xuhui dis­trict in Fe­bru­ary.

They told Xuhui po­lice that both of their mo­bile phones were stolen from their home dur­ing the night.

In their fol­low­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tion, how­ever, Xuhui po­lice found that money had been trans­ferred from Guo’s Ali­pay and WeChat ac­counts to Chen’s ac­counts.

Xuhui po­lice later found that both mo­bile phones were hid­den in the cou­ple’s elec­tric me­ter box and bath­room.

Chen fi­nally con­fessed that he hid the phones to steal his friend’s money, then pre­tended that a thief had bro­ken into their home while they were sleep­ing.
