Collection of Chi­nese artists who stud­ied in Ger­many

Liu Haisu Art Mu­seum will host a group ex­hi­bi­tion ded­i­cated to works cre­ated by 28 Chi­nese artists who stud­ied in Ger­many over the last 40 years, pre­sent­ing an at­ten­tive ob­ser­va­tion to how dif­fer­ent in­flu­ences of art and ed­u­ca­tion in Ger­many and China come to con­front and rec­on­cile in their art cre­ations. No­table par­tic­i­pants in­clude Zhou Chunya, one of Chi­nese fa­mous con­tem­po­rary artists; Xu Jiang, the pres­i­dent of China Academy of Art; Miao Xiaochun, a trail­blazer of China’s new me­dia art; and Qiu Anx­iong, a vet­eran artist who spe­cial­izes in an­i­ma­tion, video and in­stal­la­tions. Ac­cord­ing to Pro­fes­sor Huang Liaoyu, direc­tor of the Ger­man Stud­ies Cen­ter of Pek­ing Univer­sity and cu­ra­tor of the ex­hi­bi­tion, th­ese artists share a com­mon ground in their cre­ative spirit that can open a new scene of ex­pres­sion­ism in China.
