Collection of Chinese artists who studied in Germany
Liu Haisu Art Museum will host a group exhibition dedicated to works created by 28 Chinese artists who studied in Germany over the last 40 years, presenting an attentive observation to how different influences of art and education in Germany and China come to confront and reconcile in their art creations. Notable participants include Zhou Chunya, one of Chinese famous contemporary artists; Xu Jiang, the president of China Academy of Art; Miao Xiaochun, a trailblazer of China’s new media art; and Qiu Anxiong, a veteran artist who specializes in animation, video and installations. According to Professor Huang Liaoyu, director of the German Studies Center of Peking University and curator of the exhibition, these artists share a common ground in their creative spirit that can open a new scene of expressionism in China.
