“Bike-sharing companies are unwilling to claim their bikes.”
Shanghai has been cracking down the booming bike-sharing service industry recently to better manage traffic order. As part of the campaign, district authorities are clearing improperly parked shared bikes that impede pedestrians, Shanghai Morning Post reported Thursday. Pudong New Area has cleaned up more than 1,700 bikes since September 10. However, the bikesharing companies are unwilling to claim their bikes due to the transportation costs, according to Wang Qi, an official at Shanghai Pudong New Area Construction and Transportation Commission.
