Shang­hai has been crack­ing down the boom­ing bike-shar­ing ser­vice in­dus­try re­cently to bet­ter man­age traf­fic or­der. As part of the cam­paign, district au­thor­i­ties are clear­ing im­prop­erly parked shared bikes that im­pede pedes­tri­ans, Shang­hai Morn­ing Post re­ported Thurs­day. Pudong New Area has cleaned up more than 1,700 bikes since Septem­ber 10. How­ever, the bike­shar­ing com­pa­nies are un­will­ing to claim their bikes due to the trans­porta­tion costs, ac­cord­ing to Wang Qi, an of­fi­cial at Shang­hai Pudong New Area Con­struc­tion and Trans­porta­tion Com­mis­sion.
