Me­trop­o­lis book fair and lit­er­ary week re­turn

Shang­hai Book Fair will re­turn from Au­gust 15 to 21 at Shang­hai Ex­hi­bi­tion Cen­ter and over 100 other venues scat­tered around the city.

This year’s fair high­lights books demon­strat­ing China’s suc­cess in re­form and open­ing-up as well as over 500 other new books to be launched, Xu Jiong, head of Shang­hai Mu­nic­i­pal Press and Pub­li­ca­tion Bu­reau, an­nounced Wed­nes­day.

The Shang­hai In­ter­na­tional Lit­er­ary Week un­der the book fair will also re­turn for its eighth year. Un­der the theme of “the mean­ing of travel” the event will put on 40 events with 30 well-known au­thors from home and abroad dis­cussing the Belt and Road ini­tia­tive from a lit­er­ary an­gle.

This year’s book fair will launch a se­ries of reader-friendly ser­vices, in­clud­ing ex­tend­ing op­er­a­tional hours un­til 9 pm, set­ting up at­om­iz­ing hu­mid­i­fiers and de­liv­er­ing/ship­ping books for read­ers.
