A Com­bined Vi­sion: Ex­hi­bi­tion of Asian and Euro­pean Clas­sic Prints

This ex­hi­bi­tion is jointly or­ga­nized by Shang­hai Academy of Fine Arts, Shang­hai Min­sheng Art Mu­seum and Hei­longjiang Art Mu­seum. It dis­plays 245 pieces of Asian and Euro­pean clas­sic prints cre­ated from the 16th cen­tury to 21st cen­tury, in­clud­ing over 30 pieces of folk wood­block prints of Chi­nese Ming and Qing Dy­nas­ties, over 140 pieces of Ja­pa­nese Ukiyo-e and over 70 Euro­pean cop­per and wood­block prints. The orig­i­nals are also on dis­play. The ex­hibit cov­ers some rep­re­sen­ta­tional and in­ter-con­nec­tive sam­ples of Chi­nese prints, Ja­pa­nese Ukiyo-e and Euro­pean prints, ex­tend­ing from the 16th cen­tury to the 21st cen­tury and cross­ing two con­ti­nents, Asia and Europe. Vis­i­tors can fully ex­plore the aes­thetic and cul­tural value of prints, learn about their his­tor­i­cal de­vel­op­ment and com­pre­hend the in­her­ent ex­change logic of Eastern and West­ern art.
