The first world mar­tial arts day held in Yangpu

Mar­tial arts per­for­mances and ac­tiv­i­ties were held in Shang­hai’s Yangpu district on the first World Wushu-Kungfu Day, east­day.com re­ported Sun­day.

Au­gust 11, 2018, is the first World Wushu-Kungfu Day. There are lec­tures, cen­ten­nial cul­ture ex­hi­bi­tions, kung fu demon­stra­tions, and other per­for­mances, pre­sent­ing a mar­tial arts feast for kung fu fans, ci­ti­zens and tourists world­wide.

This ini­tial cel­e­bra­tion of mar­tial arts not only pro­motes China’s cul­ture her­itage, but it also presents the cen­turial ac­cu­mu­la­tion of Shang­hai style mar­tial arts, and helps pre­pare for the 2019 World Wushu Cham­pi­onship.

The In­ter­na­tional Wushu Fed­er­a­tion has de­cided that the first Sat­ur­day af­ter Au­gust 8 ev­ery year is World Wushu-Kungfu Day to ad­vo­cate the idea of a healthy life and global shar­ing.
