Summer spectacle
Villagers dressed in exquisite headgear and holiday apparel arrive in Butuo county, Southwest China’s Sichuan Province on Thursday to celebrate the Torch Festival. During the week-long festival, people of the Yi ethnic group gather to take part in activities such as sheep and bull fighting, wrestling, horse racing and beauty contests. The Torch Festival falls around the 24th day of the sixth month in the Chinese lunar calendar.
