China im­pris­ons Pub­lic En­emy No.1

Once China’s most wanted fugi­tive, Yang Xi­uzhu was sen­tenced to eight years’ im­pris­on­ment by a lo­cal court on Fri­day for em­bez­zle­ment and ac­cept­ing bribes, the Xin­hua News Agency re­ported. The for­mer vice mayor of Wen­zhou, an in­dus­trial city in East China’s Zhe­jiang Prov­ince, Yang was tar­geted by a China-backed 2015 In­ter­pol “red no­tice” af­ter top­ping the list of the na­tion’s 100 most-wanted fugi­tives in 2015.
