Con-artists train to steal hearts!

Global Times - Weekend - - OPINION -

Rise in the number of unmarried Chinese women has given birth to a market that trains men to be Pick-up Artists (PUA). The fear among women of “being left out” is being exploited by unscrupulous men who lure them into a romantic relationship for which they have been trained. Several women, a recent report reveals, have fallen victim to guys who underwent PUA training. Some of these men had flings with up to 20 women while others forced them to open their purses after getting them to open their hearts. Exploited women often ended up being depressed, anxious, and in some cases suicidal. PUA was initially meant for self-improvement, but became a source of deceit. Women must be careful not to get caught up in the web of “spurious romance.”
