Artist Wang Yi comes to Beijing Minsheng Museum

Global Times - Weekend - - LIFE -

The Beijing Minsheng Museum opened its doors to Chinese artist Wang Yi’s solo exhibition Tiao Diao on Wednesday. The exhibition’s name,

Tiao Diao, comes from the two pronunciations of a single Chinese character that means “adjustment” or “rhythm” depending on the pronunciation.

According to Xia Kejun, the exhibition’s curator, the dual meanings of the character and the exhibition help illustrate the artist’s three series that are on display – New Bop, New

Sculpture and New Painting – by tying them together under one theme.

Alongside the exhibition, the museum is also hosting a series of seminars and forums so visitors may learn more about the artist’s art and his career.

The exhibition is scheduled to run until November 18.
