(USA) Based on Emma Donoghue’s 2010 novel inspired by the Josef Fritzl case, “Room” is the story of a woman (Brie

Larson) who was held captive in a backyard shed for seven years, where she gave birth to and raised her five-year-old son Jack (Jacob Tremblay)—a result of rape by her captor “Old Nick”—all alone. Touching and terrifying at the same time, “Room” is a hard movie to watch, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t.
