The Continental

Hong Kong Tatler Best Restaurants (Hong Kong / Macau) - - Bar review -

This business lunch spot in Pacific Place boasts a cocktail list that’s well worth a visit. The Continental offers just rewards for those venturing to Pacific Place. Beneath Thomas Heatherwick’s swirling ceiling design, an elegant, emerald-hued bar invites patrons to settle in and sample cocktails from the list conceived by mixology maestro Timothee Becqueriaux (whose iconic moustache also adorns the menu). Signatures are innovative and playfully named – take the Strangled Parrot, for example: Tanqueray gin shaken with basil, lime and pepper, as well as an alluring twist of chocolate absinthe. If nothing on the list tantalises, let the savant staff concoct something to your tastes or, if you’re feeling adventurous, follow the green fairy through the comprehensive list of absinthe drips.
