Hong Kong Tatler Society - - Top10 Parties Of The Year -

Hong Kong Tatler celebrated a momentous 40 years with a splendid affair at the Grand Hyatt. Photographers lined the red carpet leading to the Grand Hyatt’s ballroom to capture the arriving guests, who posed against a striking “40” logo before moving on to the cocktail reception. Once primed, guests were ushered into a ballroom transformed into a glittering version of Hong Kong after dark. Thin silver beams from LEDs mimicked the city’s skyscrapers at night, with projections of the skyline glimmering around the ballroom. As guests took their seats, a video montage recalling four decades of Hong Kong Tatler reportage unfolded on LED screens accompanied by hypnotic melodies played on the handpan by local instrumentalist Chor Lai. After a magnificent repast, the awards were presented: Most Promising Young Lady went to Queenie Rosita Law, Most Stylish Woman to Adrienne Hui, Leader of Tomorrow to Alan Lo, and the Philanthropy Award to Michelle Ong. The US band Liquid Blue led the gathering on a musical journey through four decades of hits and The Macallan pop-up bars were wheeled out to the dancefloor, keeping the revelry going well into the night.
