Once the wardrobe staple of the late 1980s, culottes are making a comeback under Clare Waight Keller. In a typically pretty collection, culottes epitomised the theme of feminine softness—worn long and short, and fashioned from the floatiest of fabrics to show off perfect legs. Indeed, light-as-a-feather material was key, fluttering around legs as shorts, dresses and skirts. The addition of the cosiest of coats ensured the collection’s practicality. Large was the order of the day; think cuddly duvets, giant snuggly cowl necks, and fur and feathers. Knitwear was gorgeously soft and creamy, and one dress even had pockets to keep your hands warm. The models’ hair was long, loose and flowing, emphasising the theme.
