Crazy shades of winter

CHRISTIAN DIOR

-

Dior painted a riotous rainbow to create a most colourful show. It was all about contrast, from hues to cuts. Jewel-bright pink was matched with acid green, and cobalt blue with orange. The simplicity of cut focused attention on colour, creating Pantone perfection. Black and white lace-up looks were a highlight, such as the oh-so-sexy black dress with a criss-cross lace-up revealing the curve of a right hip. Dresses displayed stunning cut-out shapes, almost as if models were wearing two gowns. Skirts were voluminous, with exaggerated hips paired with tight-fitting bodices. Suits were given a feminine twist—tailcoats fluttered behind long legs, while the bottom of a waistcoat was cut like petals. As sharp and confident as the shapes and colours, the show simply screamed Dior.
