Lean and clean

HUGO BOS

Hong Kong Tatler - - Style File -

Jason Wu’s first collection for Hugo Boss brought together minimalist tailoring for suiting and clean cuts on embellished dresses. A clear trend was midi skirts. Just shorter than a maxi, it’s a ladylike length used here in a variety of cuts and fabrics, from A-line to floaty and fitted to pleated. Embellishments included gold thread twisted through tweed, tartan, geometric cut-outs, glossy wet-look prints and a striking web-like weave. Two peachy nude dresses added a beautiful sparkle, perfect for a Christmas party, but colours were generally neutral and, daresay, even a touch drab. Hair was slicked back and faces were natural. Will we see Michelle Obama, a fan of previous collections, in any of these pieces?
