Brass tacks

Hong Kong Tatler - - Style File -

The hair was high, the boots were higher: it was pure Donatella. Some of the bestlooking models on the catwalk, including Georgia May Jagger, formed a sassy Versace army to showcase sexy military looks that were pure frockish fun. Large brass buttons were worn double-breasted on dresses (cut on the bias for the first time), blazers and swing coats, and there was epaulette fringe on shoulders. Colour was inspired by precious stones—a ruby silk slip and shaggy coat, and a sapphire evening gown slashed to the thigh. And speaking of jewels, accessories were gold, gold and even golder—embellishments on boots, an Indian-inspired bejewelled sash, chunky medallion wrist cuffs, belts, handbags and oversized chains swinging from chests. Look out for the cheongsaminspired little red dress and matching bag as Donatella wages a fashion war around the world.
