Hong Kong Tatler - - News -

After a slow 18 months, Hong Kong’s fine wine market looked hot again in September, with Acker Merrall & Condit posting about US$5.8 million in sales from its first autumn auction. The bids were strongest for classic labels and vintages, from 12 bottles of 1978 Domaine de la Romanée-conti La Tâche at US$70,116 to a 65-vintage collection of Château Latour for about the same price. Other popular wines were Burgundy’s 2000 Henri Jayer Cros Parantoux Vosne-romanée and 1996 Armand Rousseau Chambertin-clos de Bèze, and Bordeaux’s 1982 Château Mouton Rothschild and 1975 Château Pétrus. Three bottles of the Napa Valley’s 2009 Screaming Eagle Cabernet Sauvignon sold for about US$7,000.
