Dishing it Out
The best chefs and hospitality industry professionals of Hong Kong and Macau were feted at Hong Kong Tatler Best Restaurants’ second annual awards ceremony and cocktail party, held at Mott 32. Several hundred guests attended the event, which was sponsored by the Bank of East Asia (BEA), Perrier-jouët and San Pellegrino. The party also saw the launch of the 31st edition of the Hong Kong Tatler Best Restaurants guide, featuring more than 250 of the region’s top dining destinations. The 2015 Top 20 Best Restaurants list and recipients of the Best Of awards were also announced, with three trophies presented by Adrian Li, BEA’S executive director and deputy chief executive. Among those commended were Caprice’s Fabrice Vulin, who was crowned Best New Chef, and Mott 32, which landed three prizes: Best Interior Design, Best New Restaurant (Readers’ Choice) and a Top 20 gong. Guests were treated to Mott 32’s signature dishes in canapé form, as well as an impressive chocolate and gelato spread by luxury Italian confectioner Venchi. Notable guests among the gathering were Yenn Wong, Alan Lo, Jacqueline Chow and Joyce Wang, as well as top chefs Richard Ekkebus, Jean-denis Le Bras, Hideaki Sato and Olivier Elzer.
