MONOCHROME CHIC

Hong Kong Tatler - - Features -

As dawn breaks on a cold Friday in November, with business travellers rushing through immigration to the baggage hall at Beijing Capital International Airport, a group of effortlessly chic women emerges amid the commotion and glides through the terminal to be whisked by limousines to the Park Hyatt Beijing for the Asia’s Most Stylish shoot. Over the next few days, the region’s most switched-on style mavens will pose, pout, perform and paint the ultimate picture of Asian chic for audiences across the continent.

The extravaganza begins with the taking of portraits of the first four women—jiang Zaozao from Mainland China, Tan Min-li from Singapore, Emily Wang from Taiwan and Ira Kwa from Indonesia. Jiang is already in hair and make-up when the others arrive, having spent the night at the hotel to be sure to make her 9am call. She floats across the lobby in Givenchy, unfazed by admiring looks.
