The Peninsula celebrates a landmark partnership with London’s Royal Academy of Arts
xpect to see some wild and wonderful artwork in, on and around The Peninsula Hong Kong over the next three years, thanks to a new collaboration with London’s Royal Academy of Arts. The partnership will see selected artists (all Royal Academicians) interact with the building in surprising and inspired ways. “Ultimately, we would like to realise a dream for Hong Kong, which is to showcase pioneering public art that excites and spurs dialogue,” says the hotel’s general manager, Rainy Chan. This year, the annual Love Art at The Peninsula event celebrates the partnership with an introduction to renowned sculptor Richard Wilson. Don’t miss Wilson in conversation with the Royal Academy’s director of artistic programmes, Tim Marlow, at a VIP talk on March 12. The following evening, the city’s art glitterati gather in the hotel lobby for the Love Art at The Peninsula Art Gala—a private dinner with the groundbreaking artist.
