Taiwan Tatler ball

Hong Kong Tatler - - Faces -

At the end of 2014, the annual Taiwan Tatler Ball brought together a selection of stylish socialites and top celebrities. The ball was themed in celebration of the glamorous Belle Époque period, and the ballroom of the Mandarin Oriental, Taipei provided a perfect backdrop for the lavish atmosphere of the evening. Things kicked off with a cocktail reception, where guests caught up with old friends and shared in the seasonal cheer over glasses of Hennessy XO and Möet & Chandon Brut Impérial. Guests then took their seats for the grand dinner. The banquet’s MC, Ashley Liang, introduced Edipresse Media’s chairman and CEO for Asia, Barrie C Goodridge, who welcomed attendees and launched the magazine’s annual awards ceremony. For the main course, there was seared cod fillet and wagyu beef cheek, paired with two Napa Valley wine options—newton Red Label Chardonnay 2012 and Newton Unfiltered Merlot 2011. Dessert was a delectable chocolate tart, which went beautifully with the Hennessy XO. Satiated by a splendid meal, guests then took to the dancefloor and showed off their slickest moves to the sounds of a live band, with numerous people staying until midnight. As attendees filtered out, many remarked that this was the best Tatler Ball they’d been to in ages.
