Mu­si­cus Fest once again brought two spec­tac­u­lar con­certs to Hong Kong City Hall. First, Mu­si­cus artis­tic direc­tor and in­ter­na­tion­ally ac­claimed cel­list Trey Lee teamed up with Rus­sian vi­ola mas­ter Yuri Bash­met and his Grammy award-win­ning Moscow Soloists en­sem­ble for a pro­gramme of scin­til­lat­ing mu­sic fea­tur­ing the works of Tchaikovsky, Tan Dun, Pa­ganini and oth­ers. Then, two days later, the Cham­ber Mu­sic Gala fea­tured an equally stel­lar line-up of mu­si­cians such as ac­claimed cham­ber mu­si­cian Vladimir Men­delssohn, sen­sa­tional vi­o­lin­ists Dong-suk Kang and Ning Feng, and prize-win­ning pi­anists Colleen Lee and Rachel Che­ung, who played works by Beethoven, Dvo­rak and Shostakovich. Many of Hong Kong’s most il­lus­tri­ous fig­ures were in at­ten­dance, in­clud­ing Tung Chee-hwa, Jan­ice Choi, Alice King and Vivi­enne Tam.
