She’s So Fancy
Pop princess think hit singles Boom Clap and Break the Rules— makes her Hong Kong debut this month
Charli XCX—
efore the sensational eletropop singles Boom Clap and Break the Rules took over nightclubs and radio stations around the world, Charli XCX (her real name is Charlotte Emma Aitchison) was relatively unknown. She released her first EP, You’re the One, in 2010 and her first album, True Romance, in 2013, but the 22-year-old Brit’s music and signature raspy voice were only thrust into the spotlight when she featured on the hip-hop smash hit Fancy by Iggy Azalea. Her success was guaranteed when Boom Clap featured on the soundtrack of 2014 teen movie The Fault in Our Stars and when her second album, Sucker, was named the best pop album of 2014 by Rolling Stone. The singer-songwriter also penned Icona Pop’s chart-topping synth-pop anthem I Love It, and she will be the sole support act for Katy Perry’s Prismatic world tour later this year.
