Crystal Clear

Tuscany’s famous Tenuta dell’ornellaia has released the latest edition of its annual Vendemmia d’artista series, a marriage between its most recent wine on the market and the work of a world-famous artist. This year, a limited edition of the 2012 Ornellaia carries a crystal sealing mechanism by John Armleder. The Swiss artist created individual crystal “labels” for various bottles of the vintage, including 100 double magnums, 10 imperials and a salmanazar. Some of the bottles will be sold through a Sotheby’s auction in April to raise funds for the popular art museum run by Fondation Beyeler in Riehen, near Basel, Switzerland.
