Le French May is back with top cal­i­bre Gal­lic per­for­mances and art ex­hi­bi­tions run­ning all month

he city’s go-to fes­ti­val for all things French for more than 20 years, Le French May is back with an ar­ray of 86 events run­ning through May and June, in­clud­ing per­for­mances, art ex­hi­bi­tions, film screen­ings and tast­ings. Ex­pect di­verse art and de­sign pieces, from works by fa­mous ar­chi­tect Le Cor­bus­ier to beau­ti­ful 18th-cen­tury fur­ni­ture, and per­for­mances by stars of mu­sic, opera, ballet and theatre, both clas­si­cal and mod­ern. Don’t miss the hi­lar­i­ous phys­i­cal com­edy show Co­corico, per­formed by Pa­trice Thibaud and Philippe Leygnac, award-win­ning pi­anist Lise de la Salle or retro-glam lounge-pop act Brigitte. Those who pre­fer a swing­ing night on the town should make an ap­pear­ance at the ex­clu­sive open­ing party at PMQ, which kicks off the fes­ti­val with ap­pro­pri­ate fan­fare, or at the slew of par­ties at the Happy Val­ley Race­course, where there will be live jazz and big-band en­ter­tain­ment.
