The Trendsetter

invited supermodel Janet Ma to Macau for a photo shoot. The runway veteran is no stranger to wearing stunning diamond jewellery but admits she knows little about jade. “It was an eye-opener to learn that jade can also come with an internationally recognised certificate, just like diamonds,” said Janet.

To prepare herself for the photo shoot, Janet went on a strict fitness and diet regiment. “To do this only on the day before the photo shoot is not going to work,” she said with a smile. Thanks to Janet’s professionalism, the photo shoot—which featured six sets of jade jewellery—was done in two hours.

Janet had some difficulties with the jade bangle but the team was well equipped to deal with such issues. “After they massaged my hand and applied cream on it, I was able to fit my hand into the bangle,” she added.

Janet thinks that jade jewellery has shed its old-fashioned reputation. “You don’t have to wear your hair up and put on a long gown to wear jade. As long as you put a little thought in how you mix and match, you can be a ‘jade trendsetter’ and wear shirts, jeans and even sneakers with jade jewellery.” Outfits : Susanna Soo Atelier Make up : Kitson@porfolio Hair : Kenhui@iihair&nail
