Lapland. The village was in the Arctic Circle and had an average temperature of –25 degrees Celsius and three hours of sunlight every day. After a great day of dog sled rides, where you are surrounded by hundreds of excited huskies, we would come back to the hotel for dried reindeer pizza. After dinner we would head out for snowmobile excursions and I was lucky enough to see what I thought was the magical Northern Lights—on our departure, our guide told me I had actually been admiring the beams of a laser light show.
