this question 10 years ago, I would probably have said no. Today, my answer is definitely yes. Why? It’s simple—one is able to find so many stylish and beautiful evening flats in the fashion world. Lots of brands, such as Roger Vivier, Manolo Blahnik, Jimmy Choo and Christian Louboutin, carry wonderful collections of evening flats. One of my good friends wore a beautiful pair of evening flats to a black-tie event she organised a few years ago. My first impression was she looked absolutely stunning even with flats on. She had been working for an hour when I saw her, but pain and stress could not be found on her face. Someone once said, “Finding a pair of shoes is like looking for a partner.” They have to make you feel fabulous and confident. High heels can make people appear more elegant, dressy and sophisticated, but if you’re unable to walk properly in high heels or you find them painful, you could do yourself some damage. In the words of Coco Chanel, “A woman with good shoes is never ugly.” Pauline works for her family’s textile empire, Associated Garment Manufacturing
