VALENTINO’S AUTUMN COUTURE SHOW

Hong Kong Tatler - - Soiree -

Fashion’s elite flocked to the Italian capital for Mirabilia Romae, a two-day affair to celebrate the evolution of Valentino and the maison’s return to its roots. Fresh off the plane, guests were chauffeured on an excursion around the city to view La Mostra Diffusa (“The Diffused Exhibition”). Ten hidden locations in the city, including a historic library, artists’ studios and secret rooms in private buildings, were outfitted with beautiful gowns from the Valentino archive. In the evening, the maison staged its haute couture show on Piazza Mignanelli, just steps away from its new Piazza di Spagna flagship store. This was followed by a cocktail party and dinner for 200 guests at the Villa Aurelia, an exclusive heritage estate atop the Janiculum Hill. Lebanese-british singer Mika wrapped up the night with a performance of his chart toppers, including Happy Ending and Lollipop.
