Brazilian beauty Isabeli Fontana is far from your average model. Self-described as a “rocker with a hint of hippy,” the stunning face of L’oréal explains why she got into modelling and what the brand’s famous slogan means to her

She’s a powerful woman with grace and strength.

What does the brand’s slogan “Because you’re worth it” mean to you? It means that, as a woman, you should embrace your self-worth and always feel beautiful and in harmony with yourself. It also means, “I deserve to feel and look amazing.”

What are the three L’oréal products you always have in your bag? A lipstick from Colour Riche— my favourite colour is 335. And I always have the True Match concealer and a good liner

like Superstar on me.

Was modelling a dream when you were a child? Not really—modelling was not the easiest or most natural thing for me when I was young. I just really wanted to help my family. That’s why I started, so that I would be able to give them a better life.

Who are your top beauty and fashion icons? American model and actress Stephanie Seymour is a beauty icon for me.

How do you get ready for a red-carpet event? The main goal for me is to feel beautiful and enjoy myself. I do my best to play down all the drama around beauty preparation.

With your heavy travel schedule, how do you battle jet lag? Sports and green tea.

What’s the best advice you ever received from a makeup artist? Always remove make-up and let your skin breathe from time to time.

What are a few of your musthave items? I always carry a bottle of water, sunscreen and skin moisturiser in my bag. And my aloe vera capsules are my secret weapon.

Are there any guilty pleasures that you allow yourself? I eat chocolate every day!

How many tattoos do you have? I have a few—seven in total. They have their own meanings but they are all in honour of my children; they’re my angels.
