Petal Power
Flowers provide colourful inspiration for bold jewellery this autumn, writes Emilie Yabut-razon
rich palette of deep blue sapphires, purple amethysts, forest green tourmalines and dark pink spinels combine to create a brilliant foliage of jewels perfect for the cooler months. Opt for dreamy interpretations of unusual flowers, orchids, spiders and butterflies, like Graff ’s Carissa collection, named for a flower with five willowy petals. The sapphire and diamond range includes necklaces, rings, earrings and bracelets.
Inspired by Greek laurel wreaths, Anna Hu’s Athena’s Laurel pendant features a unique configuration of petals embellished with green tourmalines, while the Taiwan-based designer’s Summer Bamboo earrings showcase her love of painting through pavé settings.
Add drama to any outfit with the multi-coloured Dear Dior Résille Bouquet d’opales earrings, or Damiani’s three-dimensional Giglio orchid ring, set with a mix of teardrop and brilliant-cut pink sapphires, tourmalines and diamonds.
For an edgier look, Roberto Coin’s Garden black gold ring is a real conversation starter, with a spider perched atop a 62-carat blue topaz.
