hong kong tatler’s BEACH BALL

-

The most exclusive dinners, elegant cocktail gatherings and parties galore

What better way to bid farewell to the sweltering summer heat than with a glass of chilled champagne, a crisp sea breeze blowing through your hair and a sunset that fills the sky with a rosy hue? Hong Kong Tatler hosted more than 300 of the city’s movers and shakers at The Ocean, a new sustainably sourced seafood restaurant and bar in Repulse Bay that features a vast rooftop, cabanas, daybeds and panoramic views of the South China Sea—making it an ideal venue for the first Beach Ball.

Guests were treated to the first preview of The Ocean, a beautiful new addition from Le Comptoir, the team behind hotspots including Bibo, Hotshot and TRI. Serving seainspired cuisine and occupying the third floor and rooftop of Repulse Bay’s new arcade The Pulse, The Ocean sprawls across more than 8,000sqft of space. It features à la carte, degustation and omakase menus, as well as a Sunday brunch menu that offers seafood from around the globe. Open from Wednesday to Sunday, The Ocean also boasts three private rooms and two impressive aquariums.

At the Beach Ball, familiar faces such as John Liang, Alex Ng and Carmen Yeung snacked on canapés, ceviche and caviar, along with some of the finest sushi on offer courtesy of executive chef Agustin Balbi.
