ITALIAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE BALL
A celebration of the best of Italy was the focus when the Italian Chamber of Commerce hosted more than 400 guests at The Ritz- Carlton. But as well as all the glitz and glam of the chamber’s 2015 ball, there was a serious purpose—to raise funds through the evening’s live auction for Women Helping Women Hong Kong (WHWHK), a charity that helps victims of domestic abuse.
“The chamber is making corporate social responsibility a key driver of its activities,” chamber president Fabio De Rosa told the gathering. The Italian business community, led by luxury names in the worlds of fashion, cars and fine wine, had decided to play a part with WHWHK in dealing with the consequences of domestic abuse. The chamber, which represents more than 400 Italian companies operating in the city, sees itself as a catalyst for encouraging solidarity between Italian expats and Hong Kong society.
As well as the live auction to benefit WHWHK, the ball’s programme included a live catwalk fashion show by A Testoni and a beautiful Italian opera performance by singer Derek Anthony. In the tradition of Italian hospitality, no one left empty-handed; guests received goodie bags full of Italian fare, including Venchi chocolates, mini bottles of San Pellegrino and beautiful leather-bound notebooks from A Testoni.
