acau is poised to usher in a new era of grandeur, with Stephen Hung’s highly anticipate­d hotel on Estrada de Seac Pai Van, The 13, due to open its doors at the end of summer. The 200-room property, built at a cost of US$1.4 billion—that’s an eye-popping US$7 million per room—blends baroque and contempora­ry interior design. The rooms range from deluxe 2,000sqft suites to the sprawling 30,000sqft Villa de Stephen, each with its own private lift access. All guests will enjoy the service of 24hour butlers trained by top global institutio­ns, and they’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to dining. The 13 will feature six world-class restaurant­s within its regal confines—one being the first branch of Parisian bistro L’ambroisie, which has three Michelin stars, to open overseas. Guests will also enjoy the world’s first private invitation-only shopping area, The 13’s L’atelier, which will feature oneof-a-kind products from top luxury brands.
