acau is poised to usher in a new era of grandeur, with Stephen Hung’s highly an­tic­i­pated ho­tel on Estrada de Seac Pai Van, The 13, due to open its doors at the end of sum­mer. The 200-room prop­erty, built at a cost of US$1.4 bil­lion—that’s an eye-pop­ping US$7 mil­lion per room—blends baroque and con­tem­po­rary in­te­rior de­sign. The rooms range from deluxe 2,000sqft suites to the sprawl­ing 30,000sqft Villa de Stephen, each with its own pri­vate lift ac­cess. All guests will en­joy the ser­vice of 24hour but­lers trained by top global in­sti­tu­tions, and they’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to din­ing. The 13 will fea­ture six world-class restau­rants within its re­gal con­fines—one be­ing the first branch of Parisian bistro L’am­broisie, which has three Miche­lin stars, to open over­seas. Guests will also en­joy the world’s first pri­vate in­vi­ta­tion-only shop­ping area, The 13’s L’ate­lier, which will fea­ture oneof-a-kind prod­ucts from top lux­ury brands.
