BRING ME A BOOK HONG KONG GALA DINNER

Spirit of Giving

Hong Kong Tatler - - Faces Soiree -

The foyer of the Convention and Exhibition Centre was a sea of gold, glitter and green for Bring Me A Book Hong Kong’s tenth anniversary gala dinner. The theme for the evening was “Our Giving Tree,” inspired by the popular children’s book The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. Emcees Kevin Lam and Sandra Ng kicked off proceedings with a welcoming address, which was followed by a shadow dance performance by El Gamma Penumbra, the Filipino group who won the first season of Asia’s Got Talent. Afterwards, Peggy Yeoh-lee and Jacqueline Sun addressed the gathering. The live auction proved to be a highlight of the dinner. A few lots sold well above their estimates, including a L’heure du Diamant watch by Chopard that sold for double its valuation, and a trip to next year’s Cannes Film Festival with Chopard, which had two tables locked in a bidding war, much to everyone’s delight.
