The title of Most Promising Young Lady, an award sponsored by Shanghai Tang, was presented to Kristine Li, the Stanford graduate and granddaughter of property tycoon Lee Shau-kee who is spearheading the family business’s latest project, H Queen’s. Kristine’s mother, Margaret Li, looked on proudly as Kristine thanked her family, in particular her younger sister Vickie Li, when accepting her award.

Kent Ho took home the award for Leader of Tomorrow, which is sponsored by The Macallan. Kent launched Spectrum 28 Capital, one of the largest early-stage venture capital funds in Silicon Valley, in 2005 and also serves as executive director of Sing Tao News Corporation. Kent’s speech drew thunderous applause as he reminisced about meeting—and subsequently marrying—emily in the very same ballroom in which he was now speaking. The evening also marked Kent’s birthday, with the birthday boy being treated to a cake as he returned to his seat.

The third award, sponsored by Shanghai Tang, was that of Most Stylish Woman. This year it went to Valerie Chow, a local fashion icon and founder of children’s designer concept shop Mama Kid. Valerie, who gave an emotional thanks to her husband, Darryl Goveas, will represent Hong Kong in the annual Asia’s Most Stylish feature and photoshoot to take place in Venice, Italy, later this year.
