Esmée is a Dutch art and jewellery historian. She has worked in the international fine jewellery trade for the past few years with a focus on vintage and antique jewellery. Formerly based in Hong Kong and Munich, she recently moved back to Amsterdam, where she works as a jewellery consultant. She is never without her grandmother’s heirloom ring, set with a Kashmir sapphire and an old-cut diamond. In this issue, Esmée gives an insider’s look into the antique jewellery trade in Treasure Hunt on page 44. A London-based journalist and mother of two, “Lizzie” recently swam a 7.5km race on the Italian Riviera, and last month she spent three days at the London College of Fashion learning about trend forecasting. Jewellery, fashion and reallife stories are her favourite topics to write about. She is still waiting for presents of sparkly jewellery—and hopes her husband is reading this. Lizzie co-writes our piece on jewellery etiquette, Pearls of Wisdom, on page 62.
