Louis Vuitton and mobilised the city’s creative community for an art project of ambitious scale

-

It is taking a cast of thousands, so to speak, to bring the LV Uncharted Territories project to fruition. The stars of this creative extravaganza are the eight artists—flora Lau and Wong Ping, Wing Shya and Angela Su, Joyce Wang and Adrian Wong, and Kevin Poon and Anais Mak. In these pairs, they are creating works that muse on the concept of the journey. Behind the scenes are teams of videographers, photographers and journalists who visit the artists at regular intervals to document their progress.

It has taken many months, multiple shoots and interviews, and great flexibility from everyone involved to bring this multiplatform spectacle close to fruition—and it hasn’t been without a few hitches. Logistical challenges have required the artists to reassess concepts and tweak projects more than a few of times. Furthermore, their work is incredibly diverse—some of it film, some performance, some installation—all challenging to illustrate in print. Nevertheless, the results are impressive.
