Fairy-tale Evening

Hong Kong Tatler - - Faces -

90th “The Never Ending Story” was the theme of a gala dinner to mark the 90th anniversary of the Hong Kong Society for the Protection of Children. The ballroom at Kitec was transformed into a magical space courtesy of Silvio Bergé, giving guests the feeling they were part of a fairy tale. The room fell silent when Jacqueline Chow, chairwoman of the society’s fundraising committee, took to the stage to thank those gathered for their generous support. She was joined by her ball co-chairs, Veronica Lee-chou and Karen Chu-ma. The highlight of the evening was the live auction, which raised more than HK$4 million for the society. Popular lots included an exquisite imperial green jadeite, diamond and ruby blossom ring and an iconic Louis Vuitton trunk that could be personalised, with both lots selling for well above their estimates.
