Alexandre Errera: Wang Yi

Hong Kong Tatler - - Concierge -

Contemporary Chinese artist Wang Yi may only be 25 years old, but he has already been shown in several galleries and museums. His work is bold, colourful and full of meaning, and is popular with collectors. His technique—which involves applying hundreds of layers of translucent tempera, a pigment he creates in his studio, to the surface of the canvas— achieves a density and depth that suggests the rituality of the timeconsuming process through which he creates his works.
