Starry, Starry Night AMFAR GALA DINNER

More than US$3.5 million was raised for Aids research at the third edition of the annual amfar gala dinner, which was held at Shaw Studios. The star-studded guest list included actress Charlize Theron, supermodel Naomi Campbell and singer-songwriter Mark Ronson. David Tang presented this year’s guest of honour, Pansy Ho, with the amfar Award for Courage and described her commitment to the fight against Aids as “nothing short of admirable.”

A high point of the evening came during the live auction courtesy of Jackie Chan, who surprised guests by auctioning off an opportunity to appear in his coming film with Sylvester Stallone and to attend the movie’s premiere in Beijing.

The climax of the night came when British pop star Charli XCX took to the stage to perform her charttopping hits Boom Clap, Fancy, and I Don’t Care.
